SHC is a PR microagency that’s doing things differently. (So, if you swore you’d never go back to agency life, read on! We might be for you.) Founded in 2010, we’ve always focused on being collaborative partners to clients we love, and amplifying companies, brands and voices that are traditionally underrepresented in PR. Today, we work mostly with female-founded or mission-driven companies, nonprofits and personal brands, conducting story-driven, results-oriented campaigns that meet their business and messaging goals.
Why We’re Different
As a microagency, we provide a modern take for our clients. Our founder is intimately involved in the day to day strategy and pitching for our clients, and we run a lean team of talented publicists that are no-BS and get the job done. We strive to provide the results our clients deserve – recognition in the top media channels that are meaningful to them and their business goals – and regularly work with Tier 1 national outlets.
Our team is fully supported to meet these goals, with PR tools and resources, guidance and coaching, and administrative and research support. We are built on trust and autonomy: no waste of time meetings, no performative email updates. We focus on results and working through the process of getting them. Our team is collaborative, accountable and owns both their successes and mistakes so the rest of us can learn from them.
Most of all, we feel good about the work we do each day. We work with interesting clients who have stories to share and are shaking up their respective industries.
Our Ideal Team Members
Our ideal contractors and employees want to do meaningful, story-driven PR work. They are knowledgeable about the PR process in general and truly believe that media placements can be a powerful way to elevate a brand. They are comfortable collaborating as part of a team, great communicators and love to ask questions. They’re comfortable giving (and getting) direct feedback, and look at mentoring and coaching from other team members as a way to grow and improve. They are conscientious, detail-oriented and results-driven. (Seriously, we do a happy dance when we get client wins!) They’re also professional, courteous and kind.
What We Can Offer
SHC offers competitive compensation, fully remote work, autonomy and trust (with an option to cowork if you are in the Boston area and want to get out of the house!). We won’t bog you down with unnecessary meetings. You’ll have direct contact with the agency’s founder and the support of both the right tools and staff. We guarantee that you’ll be better at what you do through your experience here as you participate in collaborative, transparent PR strategy discussions and share your ideas and expertise.
We also offer the opportunity to feel great about the work you’re doing each day and to work with clients that you will love.
